Injury Compensation |
A successful
personal injury compensation claim will provide you with a lump
sum of money, to compensate for the damages you sustained. There
are three main areas - General Damages, Special Damages and Future
Losses.
The personal injury compensation guide
below gives an indication of the current level of General Damages
you can expect to get for a variety of injuries, based on compensation
awards that the Courts have made for similar personal injury in
the past (known as precedents) and by referring to The Judicial
Studies Board Guidelines.
Unfortunately, we are unable to advise on the amount
of compensation you may get for your personal injury until your
damages can be assessed - this can't be done until a medical report
is available to give a prognosis of your condition. In cases of
serious personal injury, it may be necessary to obtain reports from
several doctors and specialist consultants before an accurate prognosis
can be arrived at.
You have 3 years from the date
of your accident to make a claim but, to ensure that you have the
best chance of success, we would urge you to do this as soon as
possible after the accident.

The
figures given below are for General Damages only. Any other financial
losses incurred, such as Special Damages and Future Losses are paid
in addition to these General Damages. We will be able to
advise you with regard to your individual circumstances.
